Scrabble Word Finder
While not specifically made for Words with Friends, Scrabble Word Finder has a mode that supports it. The homepage includes a dropdown where you can choose the WWF dictionary (as in “Words with Friends”). To figure out a word, input the letters you know in the text box, and put question marks in the places you don’t know.
For example, if you have the letters: A B _ _ I _ H, and the word might have been “ABOLISH”, enter AB??I?H in the text box. The tool will then show you all the possible words that match the pattern you entered.
After pressing “Find Words”, the website will show a list of all potential words, including the exact match of a number of letters and words with fewer letters.
Words with Friends Cheat
Another alternative is the “Words with Friends Cheat” website . It works similarly to Scrabble Word Finder but has a few more features. For example, you can choose options like “begins with”, “contains” or “ends with”, to extend your search.
Using the same process as above, you can enter AB??ISH in the text box, and the website will show you all the possible words that match the pattern you entered. Do note, though, that it only supports having up to 2 characters missing in a word, so you might be short of luck when it comes to 3 or more missing letters.
The result list for words matching your pattern includes links to a Dictionary definition (just in case you want to make an excuse to your friends that you do know about this word) as well as a board editor, that shows you how to place the word on the board to get the most points.
